Biotic and Abiotic
Biotic means of life or related to life. This is anything living that creates an impact on the environment.
One limiting factor in a temperate forest is water. The amount of precipitation each year affects the amount of healthy vegetation.
- The nematode is a biotic affect because it is living, and is a parasite to the living
- A tree is a biotic effect because it is living, and gives shelter to other organisms
- A bear eating a fish is biotic because the bear gets energy from the fish
- Water is abiotic because it is not living, but helps other organisms
- Soil is abiotic because it is non-living, but fertilizes plants
- Sunlight is abiotic because it helps other living things to grow
